Dosage form: Solution for injection.
Composition: Each 100 ml contains:
Dexamethasone: 0.2g
Excipients qs: 100 ml
Indications:
Used as an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic agent in cattle, camels, horses, goats, sheep, dogs and cats, and for the treatment of primary ketosis in cattle.
The product can also be used to induce parturition in cattle.
Dexa is suitable for treatment of acetone anaemia, allergies, arthritis, bursitis, shock and tendovaginitis.
Contraindication:
- Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance, corticosteroids or any of the excipients.
- Do not use during viral infections in the viremic phase or in cases of systemic mycoses.
- Do not use in animals suffering from gastrointestinal or corneal ulcers or demodicosis.
- Except in emergency cases, do not use in animals suffering from diabetes mellitus, renal failure, heart failure, hyperadrenocorticism or osteoporosis.
- Do not administer intra-articularly in the presence of signs of fractures, bacterial joint infections and aseptic osteonecrosis.
Dose and administration
Intramuscular, intravenous or intra-articular injection.
Cattle, Horses and Camels: 5-15 ml intravenously or intramuscularly.
Calves, Foals, Sheep, Goats: 1-3 ml i.v. or i.m.
Dogs and Cats: 0.1-1 ml i.v. or i.m.
For intra-articular injection, it is necessary to remove a quantity of synovia equal to the injected quantity (under asceptical conditions).
Dosage:
1-5 ml intra-articular for large animals.
0.2-2.5 ml peri-articular for small animals.
Side effects:
A temporary drop in milk production in lactating animals.
Polyuria and polydypsia.
Reduced resistance against all pathogens.
Delayed wound healing.
Withdrawal period:
Meat: 3 days
Milk: 1 days
Storage:
Keep it in a cool dry place, protected from direct sunlight. Temperature not exceeding 30oC
